1. Which assignments did you enjoy and why?

I really enjoyed Premiere Pro and Raft assignments. 

- Premiere Pro allowed me to expand my knowledge in this course, as I have not used that program before. 

- Raft was just a fun assignment to do as it was all about just taking screenshots of what you had to do.

2. Which assignments did you struggle with and why?

I struggled with the SketchUp assignments. The website program sometimes would freeze, lag, or crash with is annoying and time-consuming.

3. Report Card Comment

The report card comment usually describes how competent you became with the objectives of the assignments and your understanding of each assignment as a whole (or the 'big picture').

What should your report card comment say?

 Colby is a hard working student in Info tech 11. He has demonstrated outstanding works when given.

Game Journalism Play Day 4

What would you do? 

 1. If you were to start over. From memory...layout the first 10 steps 

1. I would collect a lot of resources to make a research table and expand my raft

2. Then I would research collecting nets and build them and place them around my raft.

3. Once the nets start collecting debris, I will then start making a simple grill and water purifier.

4. Using these things, I can cook potatoes that I can find through debris barrels and use the water purifier to cook ocean water. That will solve the food and thirst situation.

5. I will start on making a sail and a streamer to allow my raft to be pushed into a direction where I can find an island. I will also make an axe and a wooden spear.

6. Once I find and island, I will start diving underwater to collect the seaweed, copper, sand, clay, metal ore and metal scrap. Then I will collect things on the island with my axe. Chopping down trees will give a lot of wood and leaves.

7. Using the things that I found, I can then make a smelter and use it to smelt my copper ore, metal ore and sand.

8. I will use the things that I collected from my smelter and research it in the research table.

9. These new things that I research will help me build advance tools, a better grill and water purifier, some birds nest and things to help me beat the game.

10. At this point, I will keep on repeating step 6. Eventually, I can then make some antennas, a battery and a receiver to find the island where you have beat the game.

 2. What is the best tool to make for survival? (IMAGE) 

The upgraded hook will be the best thing to make for survival because it has a longer durability and it collects things underwater faster.

 3. Your raft to date (IMAGE). What is the best feature on your raft?

This is my raft. The best feature on my raft would have to be the second floor on my raft because it just looks cool.

Was it worth it - why?

- Crop plot: The upgraded crop plot allows you to grow much bigger crops such as water melons and mango. While the non upgraded crop plot only allows you to grow potatoes and beets. This upgraded crop plot will help me with growing bigger crops to eat. I would say this is worth it because this allows you to advance further with cooking good food.

- Hook: The upgraded hook allows you collect under water thing faster while if you were hooking debris above water, there no difference with the metal and plastic one. This upgraded hook will help me with collecting underwater things such as metal ores or rocks faster than the plastic hook. This is somewhat worth it because it allows you to collect underwater things faster but if used above the water, its really not worth it.

- Bed: The upgraded bed does nothing at all other than you can sleep in it. Compared to the leaf bed, there isn't a differences in lost of hunger and thirst while sleeping. This upgraded bed is not worth ti at all. IT DOES NOTHING!

- Axe: The upgraded axe will allow me to cut down trees faster. While the stone axe cuts down tree a lot slower. The reason why i upgraded my axe is because i want to cut down trees faster. I would say this is worth it to upgrade because it allows you to chop down trees faster.

- Fishing Rod: The upgraded fishing rod has a much longer durability on it while the wooden one has a lot shorter durability. This upgraded fishing rod doesn't help me at all other than to waste my resources because this fishing rod doesn't allow you to always catch bigger fishes. This is not worth it at all unless you like to fish a lot.

Game Journalism Plan Day 3

1. What NEW things did you build today? [IMAGE]

I built a sail and a scarecrow.

2. How will these NEW things help you play the game (TIPS&TRICKS)?

The sail will help me move my raft. While the scarecrow will help with the bird attacks on my crops.

3. What strategies are you going to try to focus on tomorrow?

Tomorrow, I'm going to try to forage on the island and also going to collect more debris to expand my raft.

So far, I have made more collecting nets and made an upgrade crop plot. I'm starting to make a second level to my raft.

Game Journalism Plan Day 2

1. What specifically did you do today?

On my second day, I started to expand more on my raft. I made a sail and some collecting nets. I also chop a tree down on a island.

2. What did you learn about how to play the game (TIPS&TRICKS)?

A trick that I learnt was to research the collecting nets. Basically the nets just collects debris for you which is very helpful.

3. What strategies are you going to try to focus on tomorrow?

Tomorrow, I'm going to focus on making a forage to smelt my ores and also making a second floor to my raft.

This is my raft so far. I have a sail so I can move my raft and some collecting nets so it can get me some debris.
